PROJECT BG05M2OP001-1.001-0008 | NATIONAL CENTER OF MECHATRONICS AND CLEAN TECHNOLOGIES

The project envisages the construction of a research infrastructure in the field of mechatronics and clean technologies follows the logical line of the process of scientific research with a view to closing the circle: synthesis – characterization – modeling – prognosing – testing.  In this way all aspects of knowledge could be considered, which is a precondition for upraising the research to a new level.

The three complexes will be constructed on the principle of “complementarity-synergism”: the complex “Studentski grad” will be specialized in the area of mechatronics, the complex “Lozenets”- in the area of clean technologies and the complex “G. Milev”- in both mechatronics and clean technologies.

The new equipment envisaged for purchase, situated in modernized, functionally and technically adequate new premises will complement the available facilities in order to achieve the required sharp increase in the research capacity and development of the available potential of the participants in the Centre aiming at obtaining new significant fundamental and applied results in this area important for both Bulgaria and Europe, defined as priority in ISIS.

The planned infrastructure will not only deepen the scientific research in each scientific team, but will also lead to transfer of knowledge and experience between related areas of chemistry, physics and materials science both in respect of design and synthesis of novel substances and materials (hard and soft) and in the enrichment of the research tools for their microstructural and functional characterization.

The construction of the new type of infrastructure will create added value not only in the area of mechatronics and clean technologies, but will also assist the formation of competitive interdisciplinary teams, able to successfully participate in other projects and programs as well.
